Does the back of the neck look wierd afterwards? Not sure yet but i will be having a single level laminectomy without fusion ( unless ct shows something previously unseen). And is there little risk of instability? I assume so if no fusion is needed..yeah?
❤
I have 2 levels at grade 1 but staggered not aligned, with moderate scc. I have to address cervical radiculopathy first which has suddenly become worse😂. But, my low back is a nightmare to carry the trash or groceries. Is this minimal incision surgery effective for 2 levels?? I would ask for it immediately upon recovery of my laminectomy!
Is there a reason why you do not mention microdiscectomy? Is it not recommended for the cervical spine?
I have pain bad but i feel like its a sciatica
❤
Thanks 🙏
Have you heard of trigeminal nerve dejerine numbness? Or onion skin ? I think this is part of what I am dealing with. It exactly describes the pattern of facial numbness I have developed over the past 2+ years. I am also the one that has multilevel spondylolithesis you had commented on earlier.
I was allowed to drive for 30 minutes as soon as I went off the opioids.
شكرا جزيلا لك دكتور على المعلومات المفيدة والنصائح القيمة التي تقدمها للناس وخاصة المرضى تحياتي ومودتي
Nooooo!!! No surgery! Please read Dr Sarno's books
I had on on the C1-C4 i still can't walk and have headaches everyday. No fusion done.
Hey I really appreciate the video! I do have a question. Why would you consider waiting as long as possible if all your conservative treatment options aren't alleviating the symptoms?
I had a chiropractor do an adjustment very similar to the ystrap. It got rid of a significant amount of upper back pain that ive had for years. I don't know if I agree with the surgeon. This adjustment helped me alot.
Please do your research on foreign body reactions in metal toxicities we don't know where these implants are coming from and they do not work they create hypermobility and I have not met one person yet that has had a successful story at least not one that isn't paid
Walking having pain in lower back and hip and leg
What about people who’ve had prior microdiscectomy done? I’ve had a partially successful but mostly unsuccessful surgery 7 years ago and I still have occasional pain and my low back has become much stiffer. I’m an athlete that lifts and competes in grappling so would love to get rid of this once and for all.

Hi Dr Donnally… I find your videos extremely helpful!!! Really enjoy the content. I was searching for any videos you may have regarding Lumbar Facet Joint Syndrome…. Could not find anything. Would appreciate any info you can post. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 This is due to a blunt forced injury. 😢
Okay I’ll work on that
no.... just realign and do physio.
Okay

Please get rid of the music.
Old video
How about doing a nerve conduction study before you effin recommended surgery.
Maybe, sometimes I do, sometimes not. Based on mri. Seems like a huge delay of care and expense to patient if the MRI clearly shows a big L5/S1 disc, exam and x ray agree, why delay care and make more cost? And emg/NCS have high false negative rates. I order MANY of them a week, but not good standard to force a patient to have one before you treat 😇
@@DonnallySpineConsult Sorry for being a dick. Just frustrated. No mention at all 18 months ago of NCS. Months of P/T, more and more imaging, dancing around the VA and the private sector and when I finally got referred directly to a surgeon, she took the conservative route and did more nerve blocks and steroids and mentioned podiatry and NCS. NCS did it for her. So - I'm starting over. I regret dumping on you.
You’re doing a fine job doctor I enjoy your videos Who cares about minor typos and stuff. And you’re right those other big companies got people editing for them and that’s their job and you’re doing it all on your own and you have a job with kids…
😇
What a fantastic job explaining all the different technologies. Thank you. Now I wish you practiced in Houston instead of the Dallas area.
Working on it!
Houston is very close to me, come on now… 😇👍
@@DonnallySpineConsult Thank you for the invitation. I live on the other side of Houston, making it about a 6 hour drive just one way. Hopefully you will get an office or a branch of yours down our way at some point. Still, you did an outstanding job of explaining the technologies, to where even I could understand it.
Why would you use titanium rods in vertebrae to replace possibly crushed vertebrae? And how would you treat the neuropathy in the feet and legs? On top of that there are possible tremors that will send will shock from pain. Or severe leg locking up and pain in legs feeling as if your toes are going to touch the back of your knee and if you don't put your body weight on your toes and stretch out your foot the pain becomes intolerable. Any suggestions on repairs or endurance of pains from previous explanations. I don't take pain reliever s and I never will again. I don't even like taking ibuprofen. So true suggestions of healing would be greatly appreciated. Ty
Long question and long answer
@@DonnallySpineConsult it's UA-cam if we are both watching and listening it then we have the 15 minutes to answer a single question. But I don't know your origin of existence and if this is your response to a question I have to minimize your abilities I will continue on regardless of everything that you read. Should I get a response that is adequate and reasonable then I will put that into action. But because it's UA-cam I would have to assumed incompetence first. Although I might inspect the response from anyone who would put a response forward
Whats even crazier is how long it takes to fix with PT :( going on 3 years, had a neurotomy with minor relief and my orthopedic surgeon wont do a fusion
I’m not sure
Doc, I'm assuming "best outcomes in terms of treatment" refers also diagnosis of isthmic type? Second question, of isthmic type cases you see, approx what percentage do excellent with conservative modalities and don't end up electing surgery? Last question I promise, are some fusion patients from isthmic spondylolisthesis able to return to high level contact sports/ even highly flexible sports like gymnastics or surfing?
Lot going on here, can’t give specific advice, but for my patients- after surgery I let them go biking 6 weeks post op, rock climbing 6-9 months post op, sky diving 1 year no problem
Hey there, Dr. Donnally does about 15 new patient telemedicines💻🌎 every week. Here is the best path forward: 1- email your insurance card to Spine@TSCspine.com (We don’t take HMOs or Medicaid, but can private pay, unless Medicaid) 2- if we take that insurance THEN upload your images to my portal for your 1st visit. 3- I must have X-rays and MRI, X-rays are critical! “Just” MRI isn’t enough and is a misuse of your time. It needs to be from last 12 months. Nothing older is needed or wanted. 4- You need to get your CD 💿 of your X-ray and MRI (imaging centers will never send them to us) 5- On the top of my website (www.DonnallySpine.com) is the link to UPLOAD images, from YOUR HOME! 🤯🥰 (or at a CVS with Physician LookUp Code k5037438) 6- To recap: email us, get CDs, THEN upload! Step by step: ua-cam.com/video/HpKOfI_1FSs/v-deo.html - Again- no HMO, no Medicaid. Must have your X-rays and MRI.

No problem
My MRI said my thecal sac near L5 S1 was "completely obliterated" from a herniated disk. Should I be scared?
That’s pretty bad, happy to see you tomorrow

Interesting that no PT would be subscribed?? Why would that be?
I like PT 👍‼️
Your videos are a upfront and shocking at first. I'm so glad that continue to watch them because I'm learning so much. It's important to become a bit desensitized in order to learn due to the massive fear (and rightfully so of spine surgery). Spine surgery has come so far...very fast. It's important to understand that if you need a better quality of life.
What’s your issue?
@DonnallySpineConsult Severe L4L5 stenosis, Grade 1 Spondylolisthesis & something with my L5S1. I'm 48 and very active. Well, was.
That’s if you can find a doctor who will do MRIs instead of just saying it is a shoulder impingement and you do PT to no avail.
Oh
You saved me i thought i was getting a hump back from a heavy key chain.

That’s what I have…. I’m miserable… crippling excruciating pain … don’t want the laminectomy… inversion table hurts so bad …. Chiropractor is crippling when adjusting… wits end …. This is a Giant in my life !!!
How long you had it for?
Diagnosed 2 year ago with stenosis …. Injured back with herniated disc many years…
Let’s just fix it?
But could it also be scar tissue that has formed after fusion surgery that is pressing on the nerve root? What can you do about that?
Hmmmm, can be, kinda rare
Hey Doc, why don't we use disc replacement for Scheuermann disease and other causes of structural kyphosis ? Can't we use artifical intervertebral discs that are thicker in the anterior portion to compensate for the height differential in wedged vertebrae instead of doing a spinal fusion, which reduces mobility ? Are there any alternatives being explored to spinal fusion for cases of structural hyperkyphosis such as vertebral body implants ?
They aren’t designed for mal alignment. And thinks that auto fuse may lead to them fusing
Gabapentin is bs and has lawsuit pending .. n
It’s rough
Injections are gar bage painful don't work
Okay, I see lots of negative comments on my page. Please reach out for help!
Thank you for the information doctor I am so scared to have surgery I went to see a surgeon for second opinion & he wants me to have surgery right away & there is a procedure he can do I have 2 choices the first one will cost me 8k & the other one is 18k he said it’s a stem cell which is not covered by my insurance & I never went back to his office
Dude what?! That sounds wrong. If your insurance doesn’t cover…
